Baker was named to World Rugby’s Rookie of the Year shortlist following the 2014-15 campaign, and led the Eagles in tries scored in 2015-16 with 48, good for second-most on the Series.USA’s Perry Baker is quickly becoming one of the best ever! During the 2017-18 season, in the first match of the 2018 Hamilton Sevens Tournament, Baker passed Zack Test to become USA’s All-Time Leading Try Scorer. The milestone, an incredible achievement, was secured by Baker in only three years with the squad. Weeks later, at the 2018 USA Sevens Tournament, Baker scored 8 tries on the Eagles’ quest to secure their first ever Cup on home soil.

The idea of sport being invited to the table was met with massive resistance by the rugby community and zero open support from the NGB of USA Rugby. NCAA Emerging sports is a concept and phrase designated solely for the expansion of women in their games and no one liked the idea of the women going first in anything. Some still disagree. So many great athletes in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) are playing the game and playing it well.
