How’s your day been? I strapped a baby to myself and went to a local NCT Nearly New sale with my lovely pregnant friend Emma (remember the one from the pram video?) and snagged a lorra lorra baby bargains!! Louise, I just wanted to thank you for talking about your goal to reconnect with people. Do you know that Unicorn weedicorn shirt? It’s inspired me to do the same and so far I’ve reconnected with two friends who are very important to me, I’m so grateful for their friendship and also to you for talking about goals that really matter. Can you do a what I eat in a day on WW video please? I’ve started it and I’m struggling to stay within my daily smart points.

I’ve volunteered for my local playgroup nearly new sale for four years now. It makes so much sense to buy second hand baby items especially as they’re often in excellent condition and hardly used for a fraction of the cost x. Heck yes!! I keep wanting to go to an NCT sale myself but a)I have no money right now – yay maternity pay ! and b) my little girl has very kindly been given so many hand me downs that I don’t think I need to worry about clothing her till forever. Yas! This is realistically how I buy most of my baby things so it would be good to see that reflected in content I watch.

I want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to our community. I’ve spent today up in my office in parliament preparing for the difficult week ahead and for the last hour I’ve read through many of the messages you’ve sent me in the last couple of days. There is so much focus on the hate and abuse of people in public life that we forget there is also an equal opposite: extraordinary kindness, consideration, and generosity of spirit. Unicorn weedicorn shirt. Today alone I’ve been offered numerous trips to the pub for a drink to take my mind of things, someone has offered to drop homemade food off at my flat because they’re concerned I might not be eating properly, and one very lovely family have asked me to join them at home for dinner.

And all from people I’ve never met before, isn’t that amazing! So I thought I’d take a moment to say ‘thank you’ to everyone for showing me this kindness. It’s a reminder of just how much good there is throughout our community at a time when the challenges we face seems to dominate. Today I’ve also spoken with loads of MP’s from different parties trying to gauge where people are as we approach one of the most important week’s in our country’s politics for decades. I’ve been reading and re-reading informations and reports, I’ve prepared for speeches, and I’ve even tidied up my desk! It’s not everyone’s idea of a fun Sunday, but at least I feel a little more steeled for the roller-coaster ride that the coming days will provide.
