I’ve never been to France, but what I imagine is somewhat how I depicted my egg. France is known for so many things, that if you asked ten people what France is famous for they would probably answer ten different ways. At least! When I think of France I immediately think of Claude Monet, my favorite impressionist, among the many wonderful artists who are well known worldwide. I have a shelf full of books on impressionism artists along with many others of various media. Could it be because France has such a beautiful backdrop that has produced such talent throughout centuries?
People flock to outdoor markets and along rivers to watch artists and to create their own art. It’s a dream of mine just to go there and walk the art walks. And so represented on my egg is a tiny artist with his palette and his paints, perhaps Claude himself with his famous “Sunflowers.” Yes, Sunflower Chrysler shirt. Most certainly the most famous thing for most people about France is the Eiffel Tower. Located in Paris, this historical structure had drawn countless people to grace it’s peak to see a magnificent view.
Just in 2015 nealy 7 million people ascended to its top! This wrought iron lattice tower is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. The Eiffel tower was built for the 1889 World’s Fair. It is not only the tallest structure in Paris, but it surpassed the Washington Monument as the tallest man-made structure from 1889 until 1930, when the Chrysler Building in New York City was built. It’s such an architectural and cultural icon, that it draws people not only to take a ride to the top, but as an engagement destination, for pulling wonderful words from the minds of poets and pulling sensitive strokes from the brushes from artists all over the world.
