While there are a healthy number of changes from the comic, most of them felt like they added to the characters. Chase and Molly are especially changed for the better. I also love the fact that they’re focusing on the parents more. Gert’s parents in particular are a delight. However, I do get the feeling that we’re going down a path of redemption which may be neutered in comparison to the source material.
Also? The musical montages hit like clockwork to the point where I feel like I’m watching a ’90s WB teen drama. While the overall chemistry of the group is on point, the cheese factor can be heavy. I’m excited for the second season but much like with “Preacher”, they held off the inciting incident and this came off like a good season one that was laying the groundwork for a great season two.

My take on college football and life…. I love football finally. It took up to the last two years to get into it. The main reason it took so long was that I never understood it fully. Having two boys who played, one of which is incredibly knowledgeable in it, and a husband who loves it helped when they explained everything to the tee. The game between UCF and SF was the most intense and exciting game I have watched this season. They highlighted players from both teams which really pulled me in. One young man plays with one hand because the other was amputated as a child. He is one of the best on the team. Another young man lost his father at a young age to a shooting.
