I worked on a mentally challenged student of my school for 6 years. Captured the moments as much as was possible on my camera. I did resist all the bad efforts made against him. Guided him, cared him and loved him and ultimately he passed the Madhyamik Examination by securing highest marks from his school. Now he is doing his Higher Secondary study. Because It takes a special teacher to hear what a child cannot say. I wrote a documentary book on him. But unfortunately no publisher shows interest in it. Presently working on a physical challenged student.
I believe that a Deaf, deaf, late deafened, or hard-of-hearing student in any avenue or venue of their educational studies are entitled to expert supports irrespective of the financial issue here. Sign language, oral interpreters, assistive listening devices or the CART or real time captioning should be a a special needs student’s choice in regards to his or her hearing loss. This will most certainly benefit society in the short and long term. The students will certainly be grateful for this aided choice of supports.
