What a great gift idea! The gift of TIME! For Christmas last year, Darlene Waller, who has four grandchildren, gave her two oldest something unexpected. Each boy was given 12 different envelopes labeled one per month with a specific theme. Inside each is a preplanned and paid date for them with grandma, them with their parents, or them with their aunt and uncle. Yes, that’s I’m A Good Aunt I Just Cuss A Lot glitter shirt. Check it!

I’m an aunt again! Well… sort of. One of my best friends (who also happens to work with me on my videos) had a baby today, and I’m already head over heels crazy about him. He’s so cute and so, so loved!! Today my dearest mother would’ve turned a big 50. It’s a pity she didn’t live to see the day. I often wonder how she would’ve aged- that’s if she would’ve aged at all. Because I’m a good aunt, I just cuss a lot. I wonder if she would be nagging me for grandchildren, because that’s what mothers her age are all about. And I sometimes wonder about how her dress sense would’ve changed, because she was a lady of class & leisure.
On this special day, I do not only want to celebrate her. But every woman who has mothered me over the years to a complete, stable & loving adult that I am today. These are women who still continue to invest in me the gift of love and unconditional support. Women who support my dreams, scold me & help me be a better man. Women who ooze love from my grandmother & aunt to women whom I’m not even blood related to but who’ve become family to me through out the ranks of life. I’ve bonded with in faith, profession, pain, & countless life lessons. Women who did not even ask for my permission to love & care but played their part because a child is raised by a village.
