That’s American Soldier Assuming i’m just an old man was your first mistake shirt. I posted something on Memorial Day that has been deleted – but I’m not the one who deleted it! Now I can’t remember what it was and I’m really curious what I could have posted that someone else deleted (and I’m assuming it was fb?!). It wasn’t the large American flag at Hoover Dam or the number of American soldiers who have died in war…Does anyone else recall seeing my 3rd post and remember what it was? This was posted on my personal page back in 2016 on this date.

The amazing part of being a part of the Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers is the people you meet across the country who have the same passion of sharing the history of these American Soldiers. Sometimes being men, we look at the here and now and assume that what we are doing is the most important thing there is, not realizing that there are others who may think the same way and because of that, there are factions that never get together and unite. Also in life, you have those that enjoy their craft so much, that they are constantly searching out new discoveries and they find those people who enjoy their subject matter just as much as they do and because of this, they become more rounded and informed.
There is no competition whatsoever and there is no trying to be the “Alpha Dog,” there is only acceptance and more knowledge. This is my experience with the New Buffalo Soldiers of LA County. They cover the Buffalo Soldiers from the period of their origins in 1866 to the end of the Cavalry, while my group the Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers cover the Indian War Period. So to say the least, the information and artifacts I am handling, is quite overwhelming, kinda like a kid in a candy shop. It doesn’t hurt to be related to the President of the New Buffalo Soldier Organization. I married his sister 33 years ago and he often talked about the Buffalo Soldiers with me, until I joined the Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers 20 years ago.
