They are mother and daughter and they are my grandmother and my mother too.We grew up in a humble environment. My grandmother, whom we fondly called ‘Inay’ did not receive formal education although she knows how to read, write and do simple math. My mother reached up to third year high school only. My mother was an only child who gave birth to fourteen children, ten of which survived (four others succumbed to various diseases) to finish college, earning degrees in education, business administration, engineering, nursing, pharmacy, medicine and medical technology.

Her mother died when she was seven, her father followed four years later. With the able guidance of her elder sister Digna she was able to earn a degree in Mass Communicaton at the CEU. That did not however deter her from giving unconditional love and support to our three children by being their best friend, soulmate and role model. She instilled in our children the love for the arts and faith in God.
She sent them to schools where religion is included in their curriculum such as The New Jerusalem School, Most Holy Rosary Parochial School and Holy Child Jesus College here in Quezon. In Manila she enrolled them at La Consolacion College, CEU, UST and San Beda where they graduated with degrees in education, pharmacy and nursing. Felicitacion Paloma Arit, Agapita Arit Arella and Rosario Requiron Arella, three wonderful, hardworking, inspiring, amazing and God-loving mothers with extra-ordinary characters and an unwavering determinations who faced tremendous hardships and struggles but succeeded in giving their children a bright future.
