On the eve of the first day of school, I thought this prayer was appropriate. A Teacher’s Prayer… God grant me the serenity, To accept each child as you created them. Grant me the courage, To lovingly guide them in your footsteps. Grant me the faith, To grow in Your grace. Grant me the wisdom, To remember that everyone in my class… is someone’s precious child. In Your Precious Name, Amen!

God grant me the Serenity to accept each child as you created them, the Patience to explain a simple concept to them for the eleventh time without getting irritated and Faith that each child has some unique strength and I can help them to find it. Grateful to my students who helped me to re-discover my love to teach and are helping me to become more patient! My teacher said… if any success comes to you only two persons in the world will be most happy… parents and yr teacher.but I wonder whether this is valid after 50 years?
